Hi there, I am Ava
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and I’m an expat based in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t part of the grand plan. As with many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, fresh routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built BriskMeadowLine
Most information online fell into either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance rooted in real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ava
